Fight Between Two Young Men, One Minor, Ends with Gunshots
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on June 25, a case of hooliganism occurred in the Ararat region. The operational department of the Main Department of Police Protection under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received information that around 12:45 PM on the same day, at the second branch of ‘Ardshinbank’ on August 23 Street in Artashat, a police officer on duty heard noises and approached the bank's entrance.
There, he witnessed two unknown young men pursuing another unknown young man while shouting curses. Upon reaching the rear of the bank, the fleeing young man pulled out a firearm from his bag and fired three shots at the two young men chasing him. After shooting, the young man continued to run towards August 23 Street in Artashat, heading towards the ‘Ideal’ building materials shop. Meanwhile, one of the two young men, who had sustained an injury to his face, crossed to the opposite side of the street, entered the driver’s seat of a black ‘Toyota Camry’, and drove away from the crime scene towards Atarbekyan Street, heading towards the Yerevan-Eraskh highway.
At approximately 1:35 PM, patrol officers of the Ararat region received reports about a group of individuals on August 23 Street in Artashat. When asked what had happened, they responded that, according to preliminary data, shots had been fired from a ‘Toyota Camry’ vehicle at a ‘VAZ 2121’ car before leaving the scene.
Further investigation revealed that around 12:40 PM on the same day, 16-year-old Arman T. and 18-year-old Alex A. had engaged in a dispute on August 23 Street in Artashat. Following the altercation, Arman T., upon reaching near the second branch of ‘Ardshinbank’, fired several shots in Alex A.’s direction with an airsoft gun. The police are taking measures to locate Arman T., Alex A., and the airsoft gun. Documentation regarding the incident has been prepared by the Artashat police and forwarded to the Investigative Committee of the Ararat region.
