Armed Robbery with a Knife Occurs in Dilijan: Details
On July 6, around 03:30, operational information was received at the Tavush regional department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Dilijan police department regarding an armed robbery with a knife at the well-known "Best Western Paradise Hotel" complex in the city of Dilijan, where a fireproof safe was stolen.
According to Shamshyan.com, police and patrol officers have determined that at around 02:35, an unknown masked individual approached the ground floor balcony of the "Best Western Paradise Hotel" complex located on Kamoy Street in Dilijan. The assailant attacked the hotel administrator and cashier, 23-year-old Vrej H., striking him in the chest, throwing him to the ground, and then entered the hotel through an open door while holding a knife to the victim's neck, demanding to know where the collected cash was kept.
Knowing the location of the cash register, the victim opened it and the assailant took approximately 600,000 drams. After completing this, the assailant again demanded Vrej H. indicate another location for money. After learning about the location of a fireproof small safe, the assailant attempted to open it but realizing it was not possible, took the fireproof safe and exited through the same balcony, fleeing the scene.
The stolen fireproof safe was later found closed in the forest. The police and investigation department are undertaking necessary operational reconnaissance and investigative joint actions to identify the perpetrator and recover the stolen items.
