Euro 2024: Turks Order 300 Portions of Shawarma After Playoff Elimination

The Turkish national team has ordered 300 portions of shawarma at their hotel near Hannover after their elimination from the European Championship group stage, according to Bild.

Dalidar Juneyd, the owner of Lister Döner restaurant, told the outlet that during the tournament, players visited his establishment, and later the team's administrator called him requesting to have 300 shawarmas ready in three hours.

Juneyd had to go to the hotel with a food trailer and cook more than 100 kg of meat. He added that following their exit in the quarter-finals, the Turkish team once again ordered 300 portions of shawarma.

It’s worth mentioning that in the quarter-finals, Turkey will face the Netherlands. The match between the Netherlands and Turkey is set to take place on July 6 at 23:00.
