The legendary former forward of Newcastle and the England national team, Alan Shearer, has commented on the decision by the Portugal national team’s coaching staff to include 39-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup.

“I don’t think Roberto Martinez has a choice in this matter. The coach has no other option; if Cristiano is ready, then he must always play. This is probably the rule,” Shearer stated, as reported by Goal.
