Person Operating Watercraft Under the Influence Will Be Fined: Haik Vardanyan

In Lake Sevan, individuals operating watercraft under the influence will face fines. This was stated during a press conference by Haik Vardanyan, head of the Administrative Affairs and Judicial Protection Department of the Patrol Service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, there will be 6 public beaches in the Gegharkunik region offering free services, including playgrounds, changing rooms, and showers. Lifeguard and water patrol services will be provided at public beaches, along with medical stations.

“Citizens who operate any watercraft under the influence or avoid sobriety checks will be fined. The proposed penalty is set at one-fifteenth of the minimum wage. Fines may also be imposed for operating unregistered or improperly registered watercraft, as well as vessels with technical malfunctions or those without side numbers. Liability will also be imposed if the skipper does not have the right to operate,” said Vardanyan.
