Video: Woman Attacks Hijab-Wearing Passenger with Knife in Moscow Metro

A woman attacked a passenger with a knife in the Moscow metro. The incident occurred on July 1 aboard a train that arrived at the "Kolomenskaya" station. Around 11:30 PM local time, one of the passengers pulled out a knife and assaulted an unfamiliar traveler. After the attack, she fell to the floor and attempted to rise again but fell once more.

There has been no report on the cause of the altercation between the two women, nor whether they were known to each other prior to the incident. Other passengers had to intervene and subdued the attacker using pepper spray.

Several local television channels have reported that the attacker may have been offended by the victim's hijab.
