During the 105th minute of the round of 16 match against Slovenia at the UEFA Euro 2024, Portugal's forward Cristiano Ronaldo failed to convert a penalty kick, which was saved by Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Afterward, the Portuguese captain could not hold back his tears for missing the opportunity to open the scoring during the second period of extra time.

This missed penalty was Ronaldo's first since February 2022. Oblak, on the other hand, saved his first penalty kick since January 2022.

According to Sofascore, Ronaldo has also become the first European player in the 21st century to miss three penalties in major tournaments for his national team.
