New Historical Monuments Discovered in Syunik Province

In June 2024, an archaeological expedition from the Scientific Research Center of Cultural Heritage discovered new historical monuments in Syunik Province. According to a statement from the center, "Due to fieldwork accompanied by heavy rainfall, the expedition team has uncovered several new monuments, including a newly discovered stone formation in Halidzor village, and conservation zone plans have been developed for them."

The center detailed that the expedition conducted studies in the villages of Svarants, Tandzatap, Halidzor, Harjis, and Tatev in Syunik Province. In February, a resident in the area of Ohanavan discovered a medieval rock-cut tomb during earthworks on their property in the Kasakh gorge.
