It Is Wrong to Use Recent Events as a Basis for Certain Provocations Outside Our Borders: Turkish Foreign Ministry

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding anti-Turkish protests, unrest, and clashes that occurred in Northern Syria, controlled by Ankara.

"It is wrong to use the unfortunate events that took place in Kayseri after a crime for which our state has initiated judicial proceedings against a suspect as the basis for certain provocations outside our borders. Turkey's efforts and principled stance for the welfare of the Syrian people prevail over any provocation," the statement said.

It is noteworthy that anti-Turkish protests were held in Syria the day before following attacks on Syrian refugees in Turkey. Videos circulating showed protesters lowering and tearing Turkish flags and clashing with Turkish forces. We previously reported that unrest continues in Turkey.
