Completion Date for Planned Preventive Repairs at Armenian Nuclear Power Plant Announced
The planned preventive repair works at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) are set to be completed this August. This information has been provided by the ANPP itself.
It is noted that the preventive renovation activities scheduled for 2024 are underway at the ANPP, occurring according to the established timeline and expected to conclude within the first ten days of August. As part of the program to double the operational life of the plant, measures aimed at enhancing operational safety will be implemented.
Specifically, major repairs will be carried out on the reactor plant, the 3rd turbine and 3rd turbo-generator, along with current repairs on the 4th turbine and medium repairs on the 4th turbo-generator. Additionally, repairs and inspections of the reactor's core metal and internal devices, replacement and examination of emergency controller coupling connection bearings, and renovation and inspection of the main closure valve hood will be undertaken.
The ANPP has indicated that in addition to the plant's main production staff, specialists from organizations such as Hayatom, Energonoroggrant, Volt Amper, IS Energy, Proterm, and Prommontage are also involved. Experienced professionals from Russia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine have also been brought in for the work.
Upon completion of the work, the 2nd energy block of the ANPP will be connected to Armenia's unified energy system based on positive expert conclusions drawn from subsequent testing and inspections.
