What Political Course Will China Take: A Statement

The authorities of China intend to pursue a policy of peaceful development and will never act as a hegemon on the international stage. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“China will continue to unite forces with other countries to contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity,” he emphasized during a speech at a conference in Beijing marking the 70th anniversary of the five principles of peaceful coexistence.

Xi Jinping noted that the People's Republic of China conducts a modernization policy characterized by national features and provides “comprehensive support in the formation of a strong nation.”

“China's determination to follow the path of peaceful development will not change; we will never resort to the old path of colonial plunder or the crooked path of hegemony,” he added.

According to Xi Jinping, Beijing will continue to play a constructive role in the Ukrainian crisis, the resolution of the Palestine-Israel conflict, and in addressing issues related to the Korean Peninsula, Iran, Myanmar, and Afghanistan.
