VIDEO: How Presidential Elections are Taking Place in Iran – Observers' Assessments
“All four presidential candidates have already cast their votes in the elections held in Iran today,” reports Iran expert Vardan Voskanyan. He notes that according to observers’ assessments, the elections are taking place in a free and highly competitive environment, making it extremely difficult to predict their outcomes.
The primary trio of candidates capable of gathering the most votes consists of two conservative and one reformist political figures. The election day will conclude today at midnight sharp, local Tehran time.
The Iran expert reminds us that during the ongoing presidential elections in Iran, the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made a brief speech after casting his vote. Emphasizing the importance of voter participation, he stated that the longevity of the Islamic Republic of Iran is also dependent on public participation in the elections and called for citizens to participate without hesitation.
