The Only Threat to EU Countries is Themselves: Zakharova

The only threat to EU countries comes from themselves, reliant on NATO and the USA. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, while commenting on the EU's calls to build a defensive line along its border with Russia.

“Let them build, but only enter with thorns. The only threat to EU countries is themselves, with their fanatical dependence on Washington and NATO. No one else poses a danger to them. They have imagined this themselves,” Zakharova said.

She added that intentional threats are being manufactured in EU countries to explain to their citizens where their problems originate from.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia called on the EU to allocate funds for the construction of a 700-kilometer defensive line along the border with Russia and Belarus.
