The Apple Orchard Died in the Dispute Between Yeghiazaryan and Vahagn: Civilnet

A recently circulated video showing the destruction of a fruit orchard has garnered significant attention on social media. The incident occurred in one of the plots in Garni, where 120 fruit trees were cut down on June 24. The trees were planted and cared for by Yeghiazaryan Baghdasaryan, while Vahagn Ghazaryan was responsible for the cutting.

According to a report from the Cadastre Committee, the land belongs to Vahagn Ghazaryan. Yeghiazaryan Baghdasaryan insists that it is his.

"I acquired this land from the Garni community in 2008. There was a cold storage here, owned by Ashot Sargsyan, and the plot belonged to the community. I bought this area from Ashot Sargsyan, and the community provided the paperwork. There was an old building here. I submitted the certificate and obtained a new land certificate. Now I tell Gegham Margarayan that this land is mine. My lawyer came and told them that the certificate they provided is for a building that no longer exists. At the request of the police officer, who was actually on his side, I was being prompted on things that Gegham was not saying. He can take it or break it," said Yeghiazaryan Baghdasaryan.

On the other hand, Vahagn Ghazaryan's representative, Gegham Margarayan, stated, "This was used as a cold storage, and it is not the government that has determined its operational significance, but this plot has been utilized in that capacity for many years. Vahagn Ghazaryan became the owner of the property after 2022, and by virtue of this fact, he must tolerate the purposeful use of the property that has been violated."

Gegham Margarayan also asserted that Yeghiazaryan Baghdasaryan's rights to this land plot ceased in 2012. Meanwhile, Yeghiazaryan Baghdasaryan presented that in response to a request in 2018, the property was registered in his name.
