Stop Nuclear Blackmail and Threats: China Calls on NATO

NATO is increasing the nuclear arms race and the risk of nuclear conflicts, which will lead to a backlash from the international community. This was stated by Wu Qian, the official spokesperson of China's Ministry of National Defense, during a press briefing.

“NATO is ignoring the facts and exaggerating the non-existent Chinese nuclear threat. China is vehemently opposed to this,” Wu Qian said.

He noted that “in recent years, NATO has consistently raised the role of nuclear weapons in its collective security policies, strengthened the mechanism of ‘joint use of nuclear weapons,’ and modernized nuclear weapons deployed by the United States in NATO countries, which increases the risk of a nuclear arms race and nuclear conflicts, inevitably leading to backlash from the international community.”

“We demand that NATO cease the dissemination of false information and stop the nuclear blackmail and threats. There is no need to go down a path that is increasingly erroneous,” he emphasized.
