New Scam Method Emerges in Instagram's Armenian Domain: How to Avoid It

A new scam method is spreading on the Instagram social network, misleading people under the guise of advertising, extracting banking card information, and stealing money from the cards. Media expert and information security specialist Samvel Martirosyan shared this information on his Facebook page.

He noted that the scammers are specifically contacting people on Instagram, including business page owners, offering to post advertisements in Stories for a fee, and then providing a link that requests users to fill in their banking card details, after which the contents of the card are stolen.

“So on Instagram, they come and offer to place ads in Stories. Then they send a link that requires you to fill in your card details. Well, you can guess the rest,” he wrote, also sharing a screenshot from one such fraudulent page.
