Information Collected by Surveillance Devices Will Not Be Transferred to Third Parties - Ministry of Internal Affairs

The focus of our task has been to determine the type of operator rather than the quantity. The decision is based on potential risks, such as whether there are potential violations at currency exchange points.

This was stated by Ruslan Marandyan, head of the legal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), during a press conference on legislative initiatives. He addressed the initiative requiring business entities to ensure their premises are equipped with surveillance systems.

"Data processing by surveillance systems can be carried out by the MIA for the prevention, preemption, and detection of violations, for identifying individuals subject to legal action or punishment, and for the discovery of property obtained through criminal means. It can also assist in locating missing persons and apprehending pursued vehicles, as well as ensuring public order and security," he noted.

According to Ruslan Marandyan, in other cases, obtaining data in this manner will be considered a violation. “No individual will be of interest to the MIA unless there is an operational interest presented. The data cannot be transferred to third parties,” emphasized the head of the MIA's legal department.
