VIDEO: Yerevan has become a disaster zone, says Izabella Abgaryan
Yerevan has turned into a disaster zone, with the majority of the city lacking water during the night hours. City Council member Izabella Abgaryan has addressed the issues of water quality and supply in the capital, as well as fluctuations in electricity supply.
Izabella Abgaryan proposed to invite representatives from service-providing companies to the city hall to discuss these issues, stating, "Excuse me, but this has truly become impossible; Yerevan is receiving services that are not befitting a capital, but rather those of a remote region."
Mayor Tigran Avinyan acknowledged that Abgaryan's proposal is reasonable. "Many issues regarding water quality have been raised since last year, particularly in Erebuni. This year, the quality of water has improved during this season; however, it remains of poor quality. There are explanations and justifications for this, but I believe additional discussions at the council level would not hurt," he said.
The Mayor suggested organizing such a meeting, including representatives from the Public Services Regulatory Commission.
