VIDEO: Arman Babajanyan Hangs EU Flag from National Assembly Podium and Waves Kaloš in Contrast

Arman Babajanyan, the leader of the 'For the Republic' party, hung the European Union flag from the podium of the National Assembly. Before that, he took out a kaloš (traditional footwear) and waving it in the air stated, 'This symbolizes the regressive policies in our streets in recent days, as well as the disgrace of foreign policy that aims to lead us to death and destruction. We need to free ourselves from this toxic environment, and there can be no two opinions on that. This must simply be tossed out of our reality.'

While hanging the flag, he added, 'To make this discussion more tangible, I would like us to be able to hold our discussions under this flag from this podium. I believe it would look much more beautiful and meaningful.'

He then placed the kaloš on the flag, saying, 'And this is the kaloš.' The hall erupted in applause.
