Mariam Z.

Wildfires are raging in northeastern Los Angeles County, California, with fires spreading over nearly 5,000 hectares, prompting authorities to evacuate more than 1,200 people. This information has been reported by the state's firefighting service.

The fire started near Interstate 5 (I-5) close to the city of Horman, located about 100 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles. Authorities had evacuated people from the Hungry Valley recreation area yesterday as the fire rapidly spread from north to south.

Firefighters are combating the blaze by creating fire lines. More than 300 rescuers are working on-site, while aircraft are assisting ground crews from the air.
