Rheinmetall Plans to Produce Hybrids of Leopard Tanks and Skyranger in Ukraine

Rheinmetall aims to manufacture hybrids of Leopard tanks and Skyranger anti-aircraft defense tanks at its factory in Ukraine. A representative of the German concern told Bild that they have numerous Leopard 1 chassis available on which Skyranger gun systems with 35 mm cannons can be mounted.

Currently, the factory is primarily focused on the repair of Leopard 1 tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles that were damaged in combat. However, they will soon also begin repairing Leopard 2 tanks and those from other countries that have been transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
