White House on Putin's Initiative

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated during a conference in Switzerland dedicated to Ukraine that Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposed peace initiative is inconsistent with reasonableness.

“No responsible country can say that this is a reasonable basis for peace. It contradicts the UN Charter, conflicts with morality, and goes against fundamental reasonableness,” Sullivan said. The speech was broadcast on the website of Switzerland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin had made a new peace proposal, according to which Ukraine must withdraw its troops from the territories of LPR, DPR, Kherson, and Zaporizhia to start negotiations. Under the conditions proposed by the Russian president, Kyiv must also officially inform NATO of its plans to abandon membership intentions.
