Papoyan on Supporting Artsakh Entrepreneurs
Yes, a person has lost something, they have lost a hotel, but if your proposal is to build a hotel with state budget funds and give it to them, it is impossible. This was stated by the Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, during a press conference addressing the question of what support is being provided to entrepreneurs in Artsakh who have lost everything.
The minister noted that the government of Armenia has implemented extensive support programs amounting to "tens of billions of drams" for the Armenian population of Artsakh. "We have numerous programs to support businesses. Unfortunately, our state’s resources are limited, and as a result of equal competition and opportunities, our proposal to the Artsakh entrepreneurs is to take advantage of the existing offers. If there are business ideas, I am ready to accept and discuss them, to see more specifically what we can do, and to utilize our current programs," he said.
The minister also pointed out that in developed countries, with 100,000 refugees, temporary tent cities and camps are always set up. "But in our country, there has been no such situation," he added.
