Increased Security at Sergey Grigoryan's Funeral as Murder Remains Unsolved
The newspaper 'Hayastani Zhamanak' reports: 'Yesterday, the law enforcement agencies were instructed to establish increased security at the well-known St. John the Baptist Church in Kond, where the funeral of crime figure Sergey Grigoryan, known as “Fazi,” took place. The law enforcement sector surrounded and secured the church with the entire criminal investigation department.
One of the reasons for this heightened presence is that three days have passed since the murder, which remains unresolved. As reported by Armlur.am, as of yesterday, preliminary findings suggest that Sergey Grigoryan may have been killed by hired assassins—specifically, two individuals found inside a stolen OPEL car.
Additionally, it was previously reported that Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan had been arrested two years ago in connection with Sergey Grigoryan's case. Back in 2022, an incident occurred at the Center Court involving prominent criminal figures Rustam Stepanyan, known as “Chagh Rustam,” and Sergey Grigoryan, a.k.a. “Fazi.” This confrontation took place in the yard of the Center and Norq-Marash district court.
Supporters of “Fazi” and “Chagh Rustam” clashed, prompting police intervention. Following the altercation, “Fazi” fled the scene while “Chagh Rustam” later presented himself to the authorities. A criminal case was initiated; however, Rustam was not detained, while Sergey Grigoryan was arrested and later released on bail of 2.5 million dram by Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan.
Law enforcement had deemed the judge’s action illegal, leading to her arrest. Currently, she is free, but the investigation into her alleged abuse of power continues in court.
Furthermore, numerous theories are being explored regarding “Fazi’s” murder, including his connections with “Chagh Rustam.”
