China Calls on the U.S. to Cease Illegal Sanctions

China has urged the United States to immediately stop the application of illegal sanctions and instead play a constructive role in restoring peace. This was stated by Lin Qi, the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press briefing on Thursday.

“We call on the U.S. to immediately cease the excessive application of illegal unilateral sanctions and instead play a constructive role in the ceasefire and restoration of peace,” the diplomat stated.

New anti-Russian sanctions announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on Wednesday relate to various sectors, including scientific, defense, financial, energy, and even public domains. Washington bans the provision of software and IT services to any individual located in Russian territory.

The U.S. also threatens to impose sanctions on foreign banks for transactions involving Russian financial organizations, including Sberbank and VTB.

Additionally, several citizens from China, Belarus, and the Republic of South Africa have been included in the latest round of anti-Russian sanctions, with two individuals on the list related to participation in the activities of the Wagner Group in the Central African Republic.
