Water Supply Disconnected in Karkop Due to Debed River Flooding, Administrative Head Reports
Last night, due to flooding of the Debed River, not only did the newly installed temporary pedestrian bridge collapse in Karkop, but the water supply has also been disconnected. This was reported today, June 11, to NEWS.am by the administrative head of Karkop, Hermine Petrosyan, who added that work is currently underway to restore the water supply.
“The residents of Karkop are forced to use the Akhtala bridge to leave the village, which is quite far from Karkop. I was outside myself and had to return via Akhtala. The route is as follows: Shnogh, Akhtala, Mets Ayrum, Tsotskan, and then Karkop,” said Hermine Petrosyan.
When asked what work is being done to restore the pedestrian bridge, the community leader replied that there is currently no information available on that matter.
We remind you that last night, the flooded Debed River swept away the recently installed temporary pedestrian bridge in the Karkop community of Lori Province, which connected the village to the M-6 interstate road.
