VIDEO: Rubinyan Discusses Consequences if Opposition Resigns Their Mandates
If the opposition resigns their mandates, nothing will happen because the resignation of opposition mandates will not lead to any constitutional or legislative crisis; perhaps it will just be a bit quieter in the National Assembly. This was stated today, June 11, during a press briefing in the National Assembly by Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan.
In response to the suggestion that a political crisis could arise as a result, Rubinyan stated, “A political crisis could theoretically emerge if the opposition represents the trust of a large segment of the public, and if they carry out political actions and leave the National Assembly, something might change from that. I believe you will agree that we do not have a situation with such an opposition.”
