It has just been revealed that the Speaker of the National Assembly is providing a political assessment of the legal requirement enshrined in the Constitution. This was stated today, June 11, by Artur Minasyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, during his speech at the National Assembly podium.

“When it comes to the normal functioning of the National Assembly, an extraordinary session, which is considered an important element, must take place. However, when a representative of the political majority publicly states that this is normal, two clear conclusions arise. The first is that the political majority in the National Assembly is undermining its constitutional obligations. The actions of the majority directly affect the normal functioning of the National Assembly, therefore it is the responsibility of the political majority to ensure the smooth operation of the Assembly. The second conclusion is that the Speaker of the National Assembly is not ensuring the normal functioning of the Assembly, but is exclusively implementing the wishes of his narrow political team,” Minasyan said.
