Russia and Belarus Begin Second Phase of Nuclear Forces Exercises

The second phase of non-strategic nuclear forces exercises has commenced in Russia, with the participation of Belarus.

“During the exercises, the joint preparedness of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus will be developed for the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons,” the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported.

According to the agency, the aim of the maneuvers is to maintain the readiness of the units for the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons of both countries, ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State.

It is worth noting that the first phase of the exercises began on May 21. These operations are being conducted under the orders of Supreme Commander Vladimir Putin, who has described the exercises as “planned work.”
