Netherlands Decides on New Government Composition
The leader of the far-right "Freedom" party, Geert Wilders, who won the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands, announced on Tuesday that the coalition has reached an agreement on the composition of the new government.
"We have agreed on everything. A new government," Wilders wrote on the X social network.
In mid-May, the four largest parties in the Netherlands—"Freedom" party (PVV), "People's Party for Freedom and Democracy" (VVD), "New Social Contract" (NSC), and "Farmer-Citizen Movement" (BBB)—came to a coalition agreement after around six months of negotiations to form a new government.
It became known in late May that the coalition has chosen former intelligence chief Dick Schoof as the new Prime Minister of the Netherlands and tasked him with forming the new government.
