Brazilian President to Attend BRICS Summit in Kazan

The President of Brazil, Lula Inácio da Silva, is set to arrive in Kazan in October to participate in the BRICS summit, announced Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.

“We hope that the President of Brazil will be able to attend the summit,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, which took place within the framework of the BRICS foreign ministers' council meeting.

“Yes, he will come,” confirmed Brazil’s Foreign Minister.

“We also hope to meet with President Putin. This is one of the preparatory phases for the summit,” Lavrov added.
