Truck Falls Into River: Divers Recover Bodies of Driver and Passengers
On June 8, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 10:10 PM, the 911 crisis management national center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a call reporting that a "Mitsubishi" truck had collided with the concrete part of a bridge near the "Harsnakar" restaurant complex on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway, breaking through the iron railings and falling into the Hrazdan River.
After several hours of search operations, divers recovered the body of a young girl and a woman aged approximately 35-40 from the river. The driver’s body was found inside the cabin of the vehicle, which was subsequently lifted out by a crane, allowing for the recovery of the driver's remains.
The police and the investigation department are working to identify the driver and the deceased. A criminal case has been initiated by the Sevan investigation department concerning the incident.
