Nikol Pashinyan and Mikhail Zibert Discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Process
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Mikhail Zibert, the managing director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, regional cooperation, and OSCE issues at the European External Action Service. This was reported by the Armenian government.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the consistent development and expansion of Armenia-European Union cooperation and the effective implementation of activities planned under the bilateral agenda. Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the necessity of developing ties not only in politics but also in the economic, technological, and tourism sectors.
He stressed the importance of implementing the agreements reached at the high-level meeting between Armenia, the EU, and the USA held in Brussels on April 5.
Mikhail Zibert, for his part, reiterated the EU's commitment and readiness to develop cooperation with Armenia. According to him, the EU will continue to actively contribute to the comprehensive realization and implementation of the agenda for expanding relations with Armenia.
Zibert expressed condolences on behalf of the EU regarding the casualties caused by the recent floods in the Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia and expressed readiness to provide necessary assistance in recovery efforts.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to Armenia-EU partnership, the Eastern Partnership program, regional security, and, notably, matters concerning the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
