For the First Time in Mexico's History, a Woman Will Lead the Country

The National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party has announced the victory of Claudia Sheinbaum in the Mexican presidential elections. This was stated by the party leader Mario Delgado, according to Mexican media.
“We are fortunate to experience a star moment in our country's history, as well as in the history of Latin America and the world. Claudia Sheinbaum will become the first female president in our history,” the politician wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
General elections were held in Mexico on June 2. It is noteworthy that the current president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, did not participate in the elections.
