China Responds to Zelensky's Accusations
China has responded to the accusations made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the disruption of the peace conference in Switzerland. The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stated that Beijing's position on the Peace Conference is very clear and transparent. According to her, China has never "added fuel to the fire" in relation to this conflict.
The spokesperson noted that China highly values all international efforts aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine and places great importance on its relations with Ukraine, being Kyiv's largest trading partner.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, during his speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference held in Singapore, Zelensky had stated, "Unfortunately, such a large independent country as China is a tool in Putin's hands. And that is why I mentioned that representatives from Russia and several other countries are working to undermine the Peace Summit."
