Zelensky Expresses Disappointment: Who is the President Criticizing?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Shangri-La Dialogue, calling on world leaders to join a peace summit on the war in Ukraine, scheduled for June 15-16 in Switzerland. Zelensky arrived in Singapore to participate in the conference.
The following day, the Ukrainian president spoke within the framework of the program "Reimagining Solutions for Global Peace and Regional Stability," where he expressed his disappointment that some countries have yet to confirm their participation in the peace summit.
“We are disappointed that some world leaders have not yet confirmed their attendance at the peace summit. I invite your region, your country’s leaders to join so that your people are part of global events,” said Zelensky.
The president also shared how many countries have already agreed to participate in the peace summit. Furthermore, Zelensky expressed concern that some countries may be attempting to undermine the summit in favor of Russia. “106 countries have confirmed their participation in the summit. There is now not-so-good information that some states have begun to help Russia diplomatically in undermining the peace summit,” the president stated.
Volodymyr Zelensky's speech was symbolic and conclusive at the Shangri-La Dialogue Forum held in Singapore. Earlier, one outlet reported that the Ukrainian president made an important appeal to his peers, asking Ukraine's allies to allow for strikes on Russian territory.
“Comments” have also been made regarding Zelensky's statement, in which the president referred to possible agreements between Russia and other countries about the Ukraine war as “complete treason.”
