Indian Prime Minister Announces Victory of Ruling Alliance in Parliamentary Elections
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed confidence that voters in the country have cast their ballots in favor of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. He made this statement following the release of exit poll data.
“I can confidently say that the people of India have voted in record numbers to re-elect the NDA government. They have witnessed our history and how our work has brought qualitative changes to the lives of the poor, marginalized, and oppressed,” Modi wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The general parliamentary elections in India began on April 19 and concluded on Saturday, June 1. The elections, which lasted for 44 days, are one of the longest in India since 1947.
