Photos: Three Trucks Transporting Illegal Black Soil Discovered
The Environmental and Mining Inspection Authority has conducted extensive monitoring measures aimed at preventing the illegal transportation of the fertile topsoil across various regions of the country, as instructed by its head.
During round-the-clock inspections in Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions, three trucks illegally transporting black soil were discovered. The vehicles, including 'SHACMAN,' 'ZIL,' and 'MAZ' brands, were found transferring a total of 32.5 cubic meters of black soil without the necessary permits along different sections of the Yerevan-Sevan highway.
The trucks have been relocated to police-secured areas. The offenders will face administrative penalties. These monitoring measures will continue on an ongoing basis.
It is worth noting that violations of land conservation rules under Article 544 of the RA Code entail fines of 50,000 AMD for individuals and 100,000 AMD for officials when the fertile topsoil is not gathered, preserved, used ineffectively, or unlawfully transported during land disturbance works.
