European Union Imposes Sanctions on Iranian Defense Minister
The Council of the European Union has expanded the list of sanctions against individuals and entities involved in supplying weapons to Russia from Iran and North Korea, according to DW. The new lists include six individuals from North Korea and three legal entities from Iran, all of whom are directly involved in these supplies.
Among others, the renewed sanctions list from the EU for drone manufacturing includes Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Ismail Qaani, head of the Aviation Industry Organization Afshin Haji-Fard, and the company Kavan Electro, which deals in component sales. Names of representatives from North Korea are not available on the official website of the EU Council.
In addition to North Korean citizens and companies, the EU sanctions also encompass Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Russia's Primorsky Krai, and a Russian company.
