France May Soon Send Military Instructors to Ukraine: Le Monde

French President Emmanuel Macron aims to create a European coalition to send military instructors to Ukraine. This is reported by Le Monde, citing its sources.

“Sending French and European instructors to Ukraine could be just a matter of weeks or even days. According to our information, French authorities want to establish a coalition of countries willing to train Ukrainian soldiers besieged by the Russian army,” the publication states.

According to the newspaper, an official announcement could be made next week during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's planned visit to France. The visit is scheduled for June 6-7, in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Allied forces’ landings in Normandy.

The publication continues: “The idea is that initially a few dozen specialists will be sent to assess training needs. This will be followed by a mission consisting of several hundred military personnel. The training of sapper units, as well as soldiers of a new motorized rifle brigade, is being discussed.”
