Video: Citizens Block Yerevan-Vardenis Highway

Julya

In support of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, citizens have blocked the Yerevan-Vardenis highway. This information was reported by the "National Front."

Protests in Armenia began after it became known on April 19 that Yerevan and Baku had agreed to start border demarcation from the Tavush region. Following protests in the areas of Voskepar and Kiranats, a march led by the Tavush Diocese leader, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, reached Yerevan. During a rally held in Republic Square on May 9, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan called for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation.

In the absence of a response from the Prime Minister, the rallies continued, along with meetings with representatives from various sectors and acts of civil disobedience. At the rally held on May 26 in Republic Square, it was announced that the movement's candidate for prime minister is Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.
