The Largest Desecration of Our Recent Period Took Place Yesterday: Bishop Bagrat

Yesterday, the largest desecration of our recent period occurred. This was stated today by Bishop Bagrat during a conversation with journalists in the courtyard of St. Anna Church, referring to the incident that took place the day before at the Sardarapat Memorial along with the Catholicos of All Armenians.

According to him, condemning such behavior is not sufficient. "Setting aside individuals, I must say that it is thanks to the efforts of the Catholicos of All Armenians that we have Sardarapat, and yesterday the leadership of the foreign state attempted to prevent the Catholicos from entering Sardarapat," Bagrat stated.

When asked if this was an instruction, Bishop Bagrat responded, presumably yes. "Their behavior should not surprise us all. I have said, in neither a legal sense nor a moral sense do they exist. They do not exist. They have no connection to our people, to their aspirations, dreams, or experiences. Now, whether it was a direct order from that person or a direct order from abroad, it is a systematic expression of their thoughts regarding what attitude they have towards our values, the church, and in general, towards our life," he noted.
