Georgian Parliament Overrides President's Veto on Foreign Influence Transparency Law

The Georgian Parliament has overridden the presidential veto imposed on the law regarding foreign influence transparency. A total of 84 lawmakers voted in favor, while only 4 opposed the decision.

The President of Georgia is now required to sign the law, and if she refuses, the Parliament Speaker will sign it instead. Earlier, it was reported that the President had announced her veto on the foreign influence transparency legislation.

“I have vetoed the foreign influence transparency law. The law is not subject to any amendments or improvements and should be annulled,” she stated.

Protests against the 'foreign agents law' continue across Georgia.
