VIDEO: Let Those Who Disregard the Victims Stay Silent – The Minister of Defense Held a Grand Celebration While the Country Was at War
Commenting on the statement made by Chief of Police Aram Hovhannisyan, who referred to the protesters as behaving like "scoundrels," Bagrat Sirbazan stated, "Who is that police chief? Did he call them scoundrels? Does such a figure even exist?"
"Is that what a police chief is supposed to say? These people should hold up a mirror and see how and with whose money they have reached those ranks, who they are, what their biographies are. That person is only interested in his chair and his money," he added.
Addressing the criticisms from the government circles regarding their rally amidst the disaster caused by flooding in Lori, Sirbazan said, “Let those who serve under the governing power not talk about victims, under whose watch 15 of our soldiers perished in a shelter. Just two days before the funerals, the cowardly liar, the head of the government, came to Ijevan and held a celebration for the police. Later that evening, they went out to eat and drink, while one of the fallen soldiers' home was just a few kilometers away, and the family was in mourning.”
He noted, “Let them not speak about morality. To say something else, when an attack occurred in Vardenis and Jermuk, the Minister of Defense was having a grand celebration 40 days later while the country was at war. Therefore, let them refrain from discussing the victims.”
