VIDEO: How Dozens of Red Berets Forcefully Detain an MP
Police have forcibly detained MP Ashot Simonyan near the HHD office in Yerevan. Footage shows how approximately two dozen police officers surrounded Simonyan, with one or two striking him and pulling him away.
Moments before the incident, Ashot Simonyan presented his parliamentary identification to the police.
The supporters of the 'Tavush for Homeland' movement have blocked several streets both in Yerevan and in the regions since early morning. Concurrently, red berets have begun to detain participants of the protests.
Among those detained was Igor Khachaturian, the son of former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturian.
As of now, 226 participants of the protests have been detained in Yerevan.
