Mother See Addresses Request to Suspend Bishop's Spiritual Service

Due to commitments undertaken in the leadership of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement and participation in the popular uprising in the national life, His Eminence Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan has applied to the Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians to suspend his spiritual service, according to a report from the Mother See's information system.

«The Bishop's request has been discussed at the Mother See, and it has been decided to proceed with it until further notice. The episcopal rank of Bishop Bagrat is preserved, while his church and administrative service has been suspended. Clarifications regarding the remaining issues have already been provided by the Bishop,» the statement reads.
