Photos: Individual Who Stormed Bank with Grenade Arrested, MoD Reports

An individual who stormed a bank armed with a grenade has been arrested, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

On May 24, at around 17:20, a call was received by the police indicating that a person had entered one of the banks on Hatis Street in Abovyan City with a grenade.

Operational teams from various units of the police swiftly arrived at the scene. The man, armed with the grenade, threatened to blow up the bank.

As a result of negotiations conducted by the police officers, the man surrendered the F-1 type grenade, was arrested, and taken to the Kotayk police station. The documents concerning the resident of Byureghavan, born in 1974, have been submitted to the investigative body.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
