Video: Iranian Authorities Announce Number of Attendees at President Raisi's Funeral

The Iranian authorities have stated that approximately 3 million people attended the funeral of President Raisi. This information was reported by the NEXTA Live Telegram channel.

It is worth noting that the helicopter transporting Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian crashed on May 19 in the northwestern part of the country, near the Verzegani region. The senior officials were returning from a ceremony for the opening of hydrological facilities on the Araks River, attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the site of the accident and conducted searches throughout the night, hampered by darkness and heavy rainfall. On the morning of May 20, it was made known that the burnt remains of the helicopter had been found, and all individuals on board had perished.

The crash resulted in the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the governor of Eastern Azerbaijan province Malik Rahmatin, Friday prayer leader in Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali al-Hashemi, IRGC representative Seyed Mehdi Mousavi, and three crew members.

The duties of the President of Iran have been temporarily transferred to the First Deputy Mohammad Mohbiri for a period of two months.
