Snap parliamentary elections in the United Kingdom will take place on July 4. This was announced by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Speaking in front of his residence in London on May 22, the Prime Minister stated that it is time for the British people to decide whether they want to "build on the progress made or take the risk of going back to square one."
