City Hall Issues New Statement Regarding Protest Actions

Dear residents of Yerevan and colleagues,

Due to the voluntary departure of public transport drivers from their routes (which we elaborated on in our previous publication), there may be delays in the service intervals on the routes, and in some cases, a lack of vehicles on specific routes.

We apologize for the inconveniences caused. We remind you that earlier it was reported that the drivers of the ‘Yerevan Bus’ company are on strike, demanding the reinstatement of their former leaders. They claim that the acting director of ‘Yerevan Bus’ LLC, Samvel Nazaryan, is unjustly dismissing long-time employees and replacing them with individuals close to him.

Previously, the press secretary of the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan, stated that some drivers of public transport routes have not fulfilled their work duties and have deviated from their routes. The City Hall has viewed this initiative by the drivers as a sabotage against the reforms being implemented in the transport sector.
